At the start of March the school’s Mini Seven’s Fooball squad travelled to Kilcock to take part in the North Kildare section. Our opponents were Cadamstown and Kilcock. Kilcock beat Cadamstown in the first game leaving us with two games in quick succession.

Fortunately we got into our stride quickly beating the Cadamstown team well. This left a final game against Kilcock. Despite a quiet start to the match, we scored three quick goals before half time and didn’t look back. We had qualified for the county finals!!

We knew that this would be a tougher test for two reasons. Firstly we were playing against all of the other group winners and secondly it was knock out!! We faced Rathangan in the quarter finals. Unfortunately for us they got off to a blistering start scoring two early goals. We found it difficult to catch them and despite a much improved second half we found ourselves going home early.

The lads involved should be very proud of their efforts and they represented the school with pride, skill and determination. Well done lads.
