On Monday the 23rd November, the 5th and 6th Classes were invited by the Golf Union of Ireland to come to their academy at Carton House for coaching lessons.

When we arrived at the academy, we were greeted by two professional instructors, Kenny and Louise, who introduced themselves to us and then divided us into groups of six.

They showed us how to correctly grip the golf club and how to swing while keeping a close eye on the golf ball on the tee. We then had the chance to practise these skills in our groups, hitting golf balls onto the practise green which had various distances to aim at.

We benefited greatly from the coaching advice that Kenny and Louise gave us. All the boys had a great day.
