On 26th November, three judges from Intel arrived at Maynooth BNS to assess the projects for the Intel Mini Scientist Competition. The fifth class boys had spent the previous month researching and construction a wide range of impressive science projects. These ranged from projects on the solar system, electricity generation and volcanoes to research on recycling, natural disasters and solar powered vehicles.

. The judges were impressed with the range and detail of the projects and found their final decisions difficult to come to. In the end however, three project were selected to progress to the next stage of the competition.
