This year both 5th classes took part in the Intel Mini Scientist Competition. The boys worked really hard and made fantastic science models from an overflowing volcano and a miniature house, to a giant-sized light bulb. Pupils set up their projects in the hall and other classes were invited in to view their great work throughout the day.
The Intel judges had a very tough task to choose two winners. The lucky winners were Matthew Sutton, Aron O'Brien, Jack Dempsey and Niall Doddy, with their project entitled "Stop Pollution, Think of a Solution". The runners up with their project "Bright Sparks" were Adam McAvinue, Ciarán Flood, Shane Sweeney and Luke Gisbey. Well done to all the boys who took part and made it a really enjoyable Science Display!
